Senator Schumer will call a conference with Legislator Ed Romaine, Congressmen Tim Bishop, Steve Israel and the FAA to discuss the recently proposed altitude limitation resolution proposed by Romaine. This may result in restricting helicopter operations on Long Island to mandated limitations.

Riverhead Town Freezes Hiring. In an effort to hold down expenses. The Town has decided to freeze all new hiring except for a possible addition to the Planning Department. Brookhaven has also instituted a similar freeze in view of a $17 million dollar shortfall.

School Board Extends Zimbler Tenure for one additional year. Status of High School principal is also under further review.

Commercial construction limits on route 58 will be appealed by Supervisor.
Fire District land swap with the Town is off the table.

Old Hubbard Duck Farm to be purchased by Town and County. 77 acres for $5.4 million dollars.
