Friday October 10 -Wal-Mart Plans to construct 167,000 square foot Super-center on Route 58 near Tanger Outlet Center has been overturned by Supreme Court Judge Thomas Whalen who ruled that Riverhead violated it's own zoning codes when it gave approval.

Oil Prices Move Downward - Gasoline, Not So Fast
As gasoline consumption declines around the world, OPEC has not been able to maintain oil prices at the high levels of a few months ago. Pump prices in Riverhead range between 3.31 and 3.49 per gallon. Those are cash prices. It will cost another 6 to 10 cents to buy with a credit card. Regular, unleaded in Central Texas is around 3.09 per gallon.

Budget Problems Everywhere
Towns across Long Island are trying to hold the budget line wherever they can. Riverhead for example will not replace a number of police retirees although it will still hire three new officers.

Voter Fraud Rampant in Many States
Voter registration fraud is rampant in many states across the country. One person admitted to registering more than 70 times. Many of these registrants voted at the same time. The FBI has raided the offices of one organizing group and the Secretary of State of one of these states has already thrown out thousands of applications that were suspect. Isn't it time to impose voter I.D. rules before you can register or vote?
