Town Will Appeal Wal-Mart Ruling
Town of Riverhead will seek to overturn the recent ruling by Judge Thomas Whalen that the current plans for constructing a Wal-Mart Super Center nearby the Tanger Mall violated the Town's Code or Master Plan. Supervisor Cardinale indicated that the Town could probably win an appeal so that the retailer could commence construction of the planned 167,000 square foot retail operation.

Romaine to Resubmit Helicopter Resolution
Suffolk County Legislator Ed Romaine plans to resubmit a resolution before the legislature calling for a 2500 foot altitude limitation for helicopters flying over Long Island. A similar resolution previously presented to the legislative body was rejected along party lines.
