Gov Paterson Picks Upstate Replacement For Hillary

Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand (Dem-Albany) has been selected to the Senate seat vacated by Hillary Clinton. Gillibrand is considered to be a conservative Democrat from a heavily Republican district and has been previously endorsed by the NRA.

New Yorkers Outrage at Gitmo Closing

Many New Yorkers have expressed outrage at the Executive Orders signed today which close Guantanamo and suspend the tribunal trials of those who planned the attacks on the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and a third which was thwarted and crashed in Pennsylvania. There is hardly any New Yorker who didn't have a family member, friend or acquaintance killed or injured in the 9/11 attack. Send your e-mails to the White House.


Geithner Nomination Approved by Finance Committee.


The Senate Finance Committee approved the nomination of Timothy Geithner to become the Treasury Secretary. The vote was 18-5. The full Senate must now vote on the nomination.





Caroline Kennedy Withdraws

Gov David Paterson has promised to name the replacement for Sen Clinton's Senate seat by the coming weekend. It is said that the he has 12-20 possible nominees on his list although the front runner seems to be Andrew Cuomo. This selection is important to all New Yorkers including Long Islanders. The Island has had little if any representation in the past and it is time we had a real Senator in Washington.
