DEC Wants Environmental Acreage At EPCAL.
NY State DEC has requested that 1500 acres at EPCAL be set aside for environmental preservation. The DEC may include the acreage to their acquisition list which is expected to be issued this week.

The specified area would include the 7500' runway, the 10,000' runway, the taxiways and parking ramps. The Town states that such preservation would impede the commercial development of the total parcel.

Rechler Makes Appeal to Reduce Purchase Price
Rechler Equities has formally requested that it's original offer to purchase 35 acres at EPCAL for $34 million dollars now be scaled back to $18 million for the same parcel citing current economic conditions.

Disparaging remarks about Tea Parties
The amazing success of the Tax Day Tea Parties has apparently aggravated many of the usual suspects. Janeane Garofalo called the patriots a bunch of "racists" who didn't know anything about the original Boston Tea Party. Paul Begala made nasty remarks on the Imus program. Anderson Cooper resorted to vulgarities. David Axelrod said the Tea Parties were "unhealthy". We could go on but these people are just boring. The truth is that the Tea Partiers have struck a responsive chord in the American spirit and they have just begun to fight!!

A couple of years ago classic T-6s were demonstrated at Calverton. Look back at this special aircraft in this video.
