Stimulus Money to Pave Bike Path

Nassau and Suffolk are scheduled to receive 154 million dollars in Federal stimulus money, primarily to fund infrastructure projects in the two counties. Improvements to the Northern and Southern State Parkways are included as well as repairs to bridges in Islip and Babylon. 3.1 million dollars have been allocated to pave a bicycle path from Riverhead to Southold and for other Riverhead paving projects. It is sincerely hoped that some of that 3.1 million will go to local paving. Have you seen Reeves (between Osborn and Horton) lately? It is a total disaster and a disgrace. What is the Highway Department doing?????


Tea Party Infiltrators Expected.

Organizers of the many Tea Party events across the country are not worried about the possibility of infiltrators from Acorn or other groups spoiling their gatherings on April 15, in fact they welcome them.


The State Senate has approved the installation of red-light cameras at 50 troublesome traffic intersections in Nassau and Suffolk.


Sen Kirsten Gillibrand has collected more than 2.3 million dollars for her election campaign for the special election in 2010. Gillibrand appointed by Gov Paterson to replace Hillary Clinton is expected to have some opposition in the Democratic primary next year. A serious Republican challenger, except for Peter King has not come forward as yet.

FDA Has Posted New Pistachio Recall List

Go to the FDA recall page for a current list of products made from or which have pistachio nuts in their contents. This of course, is a result of an outbreak of salmonella suspected to come from pistachio nuts.

F-16s Chase Cessna Across 3 States.... A Cessna 172 which originated in Canada, crossed the border, travelled over 3 states and finally landed on a road in Missouri. State Police did not find any Ron Paul bumper stickers on board.
