Congressman Tim Bishop advises that $4 million dollars may be available for a rail spur into EPCAL. The Town would have to come up with another $1 million.
9/12 Group Unhappy About Aerial Survey
The $50,000 aerial surveillance program proposed by Town officials is opposed by leaders of the 9/12 Group as an unnecessary intrusion on private property.
Republicans to Endorse Levy For Gov.?

Not so fast. District legislator Ed Romaine would oppose any idea for Republicans to endorse the present County Executive Steve Levy in a run for the NY State Governor slot.
Fire District May Hire Paid Firemen.
Local fire officials indicate that the difficulty in recruiting volunteers may force the district to hire paid firefighters in the near future. Several Long Island fire districts are reporting similar problems.
Cyber Czar In The White House
The White House has announced that it will appoint a "Cyber Czar" to monitor internet problems and protect the national grid among other things. Is this just another intrusion on freedom of speech?
