Lee Zeldin to Run For NY Senate
Lee Zeldin (R), former candidate for U.S. Congress, has announced that he will run for the New York State Senate in the Third Senatorial District. He will oppose Brian Foley (D) of Brookhaven for the seat. Zeldin has long been critical of Foley who, he feels, is responsible for the elimination of the Star Rebate Checks and who cast a vote in favor of increasing the payroll tax on Long Island to benefit the MTA. Zeldin has created an election web site at
zeldinforsenate.com and is a practicing attorney in Smithtown.

Such a system is downright evil."
Unemployment Figures Use Fuzzy Math
When the Department of Labor reported this past Friday that recent unemployment figures of about 300,000 resulting in a percentage calculation of 9.4% (downfrom 9.5%) they forgot to tell you that over 400,000 unemployed were taken out of the calculations because this group simply stopped looking for jobs. The real figure should be 9.8% or some think 10.7%.

A new retirement organization called 60 Plus is opposing AARP's support of the Obama health care plan and has gone on the offense with a strong ad on television. The national spokesman for the group is Pat Boone a strong conservative. Click here to see the ad. Want more info about the group? Just click onto http://www.60plus.org/.
