School Expansion Likely to Increase
Original reports of a 123 million dollar school expansion proposal may have been premature. Some experts are predicting that the plan will rise to 150 million before it is all over. Expansion is likely to be presented to the public in a referendum later in the year. Reported declining population will make this a hard sell.

Peconic Bay Medical Center Agreement
The East End Health Alliance and Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield have reached an agreement which allows members of Empire to continue to receive services from the three hospitals in the alliance.
Kanas Family Recognized by Peconic
The Peconic Bay Medical Center has announced that the newly completed surgical pavilion will be named "The Kanas Center for Advanced Surgery" in recognition of a substantial gift received from the John Kanas Family.

912 Groups Gear Up for Washington D.C.
Eager protesters from the 912 group from Riverhead and from around the country are preparing to descend on the Capitol on September 12 for one giant rally. Tea Part Patriots will also be there. Meanwhile the Tea Party Express bus has been touring the country meeting up with energetic groups no matter where they stop en route. The bus is scheduled to end up in D.C. with the other groups on 9/12.
