Bishop Saga Goes On
Noting settled as yet.  Absentee ballots have been counted and the challenges have begun.  The contenders for the CD-1 Congressional seat are in Suffolk Court going through the ballots one at a time.  Each conceded 209 ballots to the other with more challenges to be reviewed. This is the only undecided congressional race in the country.

Charges of fraud have been raised when it was found that some residents who live in New York City with summer homes in the County may have voted in both places.  A felony.

Take Notes on this One.
We know that Dan Losquadro (R) has won the NY Assembly seat held by Marc Alessi (D).  Losquadro was not only a member of the Suffolk County Legislature but he was also the minority leader. That seat is now vacant of course.  A special election for the remaining one year term of that legislative seat will be held. (Date unknown).  Jane Bonner (R/C) prominent in Brookhaven town politics has expressed interest in running for the seat as is Marc Alessi (D) who just lost the Assembly seat to Losquadro.  Interesting!
