Walter Wants High Tech at EPCAL
When Sen Schumer announced plans for a new high tech initiative for Long Island Riverhead Supervisor Sean Walter made an immediate pitch to have the biotech and energy development facility located in the under developed Enterprise Park.  Walter's announcement advised how the town was "through with ski lifts" and other planning that hasn't worked out.

School Board Meets to Decide Assistant Supe's Fate
The Riverhead School Board will meet this evening and among other issues will have to determine the status of Michael Ivanov, Assistant Superintendent for Finance.  Mr Ivanov had been dismissed from his position but not terminated.

Reps Want More Security
In view of the attack on Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, many representatives of congress are understandably, demanding increased security.  OK...why not call for additional security whenever you schedule a public event.  Pay for it by reducing your offices by at least one location.  Ironically Giffords  was about to recommend that all congressman reduce their office spending  by 5%.

9-12 Project Reschedules January Meeting
The Suffolk County 9-12 Project meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday Jan 12,  7 pm has been rescheduled for Wednesday Jan26 at 7pm (Polish Hall, Riverhead).  Winter storm threat forced the postponement.
