Last Great Park in Suffolk

Suffolk Park officials are excited about the prospects of a new park on a 311 acre hunting preserve in Northville.  Plans call for camping grounds, RV parking and cabins for overnight stays on what was formerly a hunting preserve on the North Fork. Additional plans will be announced in the near future.

English Down, Math Up

Long Island students in grades 3-8 have slid down a bit on English tests but have improved on Math testing.  New test results for this grade level show English proficiency at 64.2% and Math at 74.6%.

Islanders in Suffolk?

Nassau residents just recently voted down any chance of renovating the Nassau Coliseum.  Charles Wang, owner of the Islander hockey team has started looking elsewhere for a new home for his team.  Steve Levy admits that he has had a brief talk with Wang on the possibility of the Team moving to Suffolk.  The question is where?

Suffolk 9-12 Meeting

The Suffolk 9-12 Project will hold it's monthly meeting at 7 pm on Wednesday, August 17 and is most interested in having guests attend the meeting and join the conservative group as we head into the new, election year cycle. (Polish Hall, Riverhead, 7 pm Wednesday, Aug 17)

George Demos Says Yes

George Demos says that he is interested in getting back into the race against Tim Bishop next year.  Demos, who lost in a 3 way primary to Randy Altschuler in 2010, feels that he can win.  Altschuler, who only lost to Bishop by a little over 500 votes has the backing of the Republican and Conservative parties.
