Comings and Goings

Big losses (and jobs) for the community as a new round of business closings are announced.

Northside Lobster Roll -will shutdown after December and the site auctioned.
Boulder Creek Steak House -shutdown and contents auctioned Monday.
OMG How Cute East Main Street store -"going out of business sale".
Borders Books. - Already gone.
Arrow Electronics headquarters. -Moving to Florida.
RX Therapeutics- moving to Colorado

On the other hand:
Summerwind project (apartments and retail)- expects to open next fall.
National Wholesale Liquidators -reopening in W. Hempstead.

Suffolk County Executive Race Debate
Angie Carpenter (R) and Steve Bellone (D) candidates for the Suffolk County Executive position will square off in a debate on Wednesday evening on cable News 12 from 7-8 pm.  Guess satellite customers can only read about it.

Opposition to Bond Heard
The Riverhead School Board listened to a strong objection to the recently passed bond issue made by one of the district residents.  Specifically mentioned was an invasion of privacy by releasing private telephone numbers and the suspect timing of announcing a budget shortfall after the bond was passed.
