Spring Recital at Mercy
Last night the students at BishopMcGann-Mercy Middle/High School presented their spring recital and it was a good one.  The choruses, both junior and high school, were outstanding.  The Symphonic Orchestra and the Jazz Ensemble were so greatly improved from their last performance that they sounded ready for prime time.  Good leadership and dedication to music gave us all a very entertaining evening.  Don't miss the next one.

School District Sells Development Rights
The development rights to 25 acres of land in Aquebogue held by the school district since 1964 has been sold to the County for a reported $1,325,000.  In doing so, the parcel must remain in farmland zoning forever more.  Two (2) acres of the total 27 have been retained by the school district as a future building site for a farmhouse or other building as needed.  The deal is subject to legislative approval.

Ag Produce Processing....Hold on!
The Blackman Plumbing Supply Building on Sound Avenue was recently sold to J.King Food Services and in turn King was issued a permit to operate an agriculture processing and storage facility.
Austin Warner, owner of Warner Nursery which is adjacent to the Blackman/King building says that zoning does not permit such use and is seeking to put a halt on the operation.  The situation will now be subject to a hearing.
