Special Election 

A special election for assemblyman for the First Assembly District (North Shore) will be called for the early spring.  Republicans and Democrats will seek to replace Dan Losquadro who will resign the legislative post to assume the duties of Brookhaven Highway Superintendent.  No candidates have come forward as yet

Cars Gone (Almost)

One runway at EPCAL has been cleared of Sandy damaged autos with many more to go.  Thousands of vehicles which were parked end to end on the western most runway have been picked up and taken away.  Many more still sit on the second runway and on privately owned grassland.

EPCAL Planning

An independent, self appointed group of environmentalists have put together a development plan for EPCAL and presented it to the town.  The plan leaves only 600 plus acres for development and suggests large areas of grassland which would be left untouched.  Don't think so.


Hess Stations Will Be Gone
The Hess Corporation will close all gas stations and their convenience stores by 2014.  There are some 1100 stations on the eastern seaboard with three in Riverhead.  To their credit, Hess was the only station that resisted two tier pricing (one price for credit and another for cash
