School budget vote on May 21
Tax Levy to increase to 3.82%
Increase over previous budget: $5.7 million dollars
Three (3) candidates running for 2 Board seats.
Board members are elected for 3 year terms.

Library Director to Leave
Library Director Lisa Jacobs has announced that she will be leaving her post as Director to assume a new position as Assistant Director at the Longwood Public Library. Ms Jacobs has been Library Director in Riverhead for seven (7) years.
Challenge to Gio
Mike Panchak, a local businessman will challenge Gio Woodson for the position of Riverhead Highway Superintendent. John Galla, Chairman of the Riverhead Republican Party will screen Panchak (the only announced challenger so far) for the highway position.
Funds for School Security
The Riverhead Central School District is expected to spend approximately $100,000 from reserve funds to upgrade security in the various district schools.
Screening for Supervisor
Sean Walter, current Town Supervisor and Jim Wooten, a Town Councilman will screen with the local Republican Party for the nomination to run for Supervisor this fall.
Timothy Hill Charter School
Timothy Hill Ranch is once again seeking permission to establish a charter school on the current ranch grounds. Officials of the ranch originally sought a school for grades 7-12 and now ask for grades 9-12 only.
