Got any old oil or paint or kerosene etc around the house, garage or shed? Get rid of it this Saturday, May 11 at the Highway Department yard on Osborne. Will also take old electronic equipment or an assortment of things you probably want rid of. May 11. Highway Dept yard on Osborne.
Yellow Barn Now Open. (May 6)
The Riverhead Library announces that the Yellow Barn building adjacent to the library is now open. . Your chance to pick up some real bargains in hardcover or paperback editions. Perhaps you have some books or videos that you would like to donate to the Barn. They resell them at a fair price and help support the library budget.
School Budget May 21
Don't forget to vote on the Riverhead School Budget. Tax levy going up again this year. If you object to the increase make your voice known with a vote. Review the mailed voter card which you recently received. The voting locations have changed.
NFAWL Not Sure About EPCAL
The North Fork Animal Welfare League was offered the opportunity of moving the present animal shelter on Youngs Avenue to a location in EPCAL. The building recommended by the Town is little used community center which would allow the League to save their funds for renovation rather than a new building. Guess what? They aren't certain if they really want to do that. Really?
