Proud to be an American

The sight of hundreds  or perhaps thousands of Americans descending on the National Mall in Washington to break down barricades preventing vets from gaining access to the World War II Memorial was inspiring to say the least.

I don't think these were just vets tearing down the fences.  Many, I'm sure, we're ordinary citizens. No doubt many were conservative but hopefully there were some Democrats in the crowd as we'll.

These protesters came from all directions to stand up to the government and demand that these monuments be opened to every American, especially the veterans.

The outrage threshold for Americans has been greatly underestimated.  As soon as my fellow Americans realize that their rights and freedoms are in jeopardy they rise up and push back.
