Weather
The various weathermen were absolutely on the money with their predictions for the East End.  For the city and surrounding counties- not so much.  Baiting Hollow got at least 22 inches of the white stuff, Mattituck woke up to 25 inches and Orient welcomed more than 30 inches of the white stuff.

More to come on Friday but probably no where near the Monday/Tuesday storm.  Up through New England this was a devastating storm for the coastal town.  Many homes along the coast were simply wiped out by the snow and high winds.  Icy flooding destroyed a number of houses along the coastline.  Nantucket was still without power at last report.

Charter School Opens
The new $14.5 million dollar charter school facility opened last week to lots of applause.  The new building for K-8 is really an attractive facility and the students must be pleased with their new digs.

Sheldon Silver Out - Maybe
Speaker of the NY State Assembly was arrested on Monday on charges of corruption and bribe taking of upwards of $5 million dollars.  He hasn't decided when he will step down from the Speaker ship although the Assembly already planned a substitute Speaker to keep things going.  New York Mayor DeBlasio, said when asked about Silver said, "Sheldon Silver is a man of integrity'.  You cant make this stuff up folks.

Bergdahl Charged - Or Maybe Not
Why won't the Defense Department admit that suspected deserter Bergdahl has been charged with desertion and possibly more?  Is it because the WH doesn't want to admit that it made a huge mistake in exchanging 5 terrorists from Gitmo for a possible deserter?  It is a known fact that most of those released from Guantanamo Bay end up fighting against Americans the second time around.
