Planning Board Publishes Public Notice Re; Mastronardi Subdivision

The Riverhead Planning Board has finally published a notice of Public Hearing regarding Mastro Realty, the corporate name for the Mastronardi subdivision to be constructed just east and immediately adjacent to the Preserve subdivision. The notice appears in the May 31 edition of the Riverhead News-Review and also requires posting on the property as well.

The Public Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Riverhead Town Hall. You may recall that the subdivision is planned for 22 building lots on 49 acres. Our last information from Young and Young was that the cut through of the cul-de-sac into the new subdivision was still in the planning.

We are asking that all interested homeowners in the Preserve attend the hearing and those who wish to speak about the subdivision (and especially the cul-de-sac) please do so. This may be your last opportunity!

Tim Bishop On Oil and Gas Prices

Congressman Bishop, speaking on WRIV stated that he believes intentional shutting down of refineries for "scheduled maintenance" caused the oil industry to find a way to increase their prices and bottom line. Meanwhile Congressman Stupak has pushed forward with the bill to investigate possible gouging on the part of distributors or stations.

Huge Sale at EPCAL Pending.

The Town Board hasn't selected a finalist as yet for a large industrial zoned parcel at EPCAL. The price could be well over 30 million dollars with three active bidders hanging in for a final decision. Meanwhile Board member Densieski wants the Board to approve a proposal for a raceway and hockey arena and will ask that the entire Board agree to a resolution for the proposal.
