Senft to Run For State Senate
The Suffolk Republican Party has selected Islip Town Board Member Anthony Senft to run for the New York State Senate seat which will be vacated by current Senator Lee Zeldin who is running for congress.  Mr. Senft is a Conservative.

Croci Not Running
Tom Croci, current Islip Supervisor, has indicated that he is not interested in running for the state senate seat.  Croci, a military reservist is currently on duty in the middle east

Rice Campaign Heating Up
Nassau District Attorney, Kathleen Rice, is actively campaigning for the congressional seat of Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy(D) who will not seek election to congress this fall.  Rice has received a number of endorsements.

Farmers Market a Go!
The Farmers Market currently operating in the old Swezey building on Main Street seems to be popular and in fact, has run out of space.  There are many vendors who would like to display their wares but cannot be accommodated at this time.  Open Saturdays 11 am.

Shoes and Boots
The Working Shoe and Bootery will be open starting this Saturday.  Located nearby the King Kullen store on rte 58 the store expects to fill a real need for work shoes and boot wear.

Athletics in a Confused State at Mercy
The selection of Paul Mastronardi as Athletic Director and the release of Jeff Doroski as football coach has many parents confused and a little upset.  In a special meeting called by principal Carl Semmlar the administrators sought to calm things down and explain their ideas to advance school athletics and student recruitment. Not over.  Stay tuned.
