State Senator Lee Zeldin (R) has been officially selected by the Suffolk Republican Party to oppose Congressman Tim Bishop (D) in the November election for U.S. Congresman. Zeldin had previously run against Bishop for Congress in the 2008 election and lost. Subsequently Zeldin ran and won the State Senate slot against Brian Foley. Both George Demos (R) and Randy Altschuler(R)who lost to Bishop in 2010, have indicated that they would oppose Zeldin in a primary fight for the nomination.
More Snow Expected Tuesday
Weather forecasters are predicting another round of snowfall for Tuesday morning (2/18). Four inches of snow are expected on Long Island with temps turning slightly warmer and as much as 50 degrees on Wednesday. New England will be hit with another storm as well.
