Mother's Day is May 11, 2014
Don't forget to call, visit or send a flower to your Mom on this Mother's Day
S.T.O.P. Day on Saturday May 10
Sanitation Department will conduct its semi annual collection day of unwanted oils, cleaners, paint, electronics etc at the Town Highway Department location on Osborn Avenue (near Agway). Town residents may just drive in to get rid of that stuff you didn't know what to do with. Open from 8 am to 3 pm.
School Budget May 20
School budget vote is now scheduled for May 20. Five candidates are seeking seats on the Board of Education.
Animal Control Moving
The dog shelter on Youngs Avenue will be moving to EPCAL very soon. The Town is prepared to allow the shelter to occupy a little used community center for the animal center. Funding will be required for the move, upkeep and renovation of the EPCAL facility.
Editor's Note: Residents should be aware that a move by the dog shelter to EPCAL will make the current shelter property vacant and available for many proposed purposes. Any expansion of Crown Sanitation onto these grounds should be opposed by all. That area of Youngs is already a blighted area, noisy, dirty and most times: a grid lock of trucks both in and out of the recycling plant. Time to clean up that place.
