Planning Board Agenda

The Riverhead Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7:00 pm, July 6 at Town Hall. I have been advised by the Planning Department that, once again, the Mastronardi subdivision does not appear on the agenda. In addition, any future action on this subdivision will require public notice and a public hearing. Regardless of that advisory it is suggested that we all remain alert to any pre-emptive actions by the Board, the builder and his representatives to finalize the approval process without our input. We do not want the cut through of the cul-de-sac and must continue to put the pressure on the Town.

Welcome to Coney Island East

According to Erica Jackson, writing in The Independent/Traveler Watchman, the Town is considering the sale of 70 acres of land at EPCAL for an amusement park equipped with roller coasters and carousels. This should go nicely with the 500 homes that Pulte wants to build. Maybe the Board can get the hot dog eating contest moved to EPCAL.

Building Permits - Going Up!
Don't know if you noticed but the Town just completed a public hearing on adjusting the rates for building permits of all kinds including extensions, garages, new construction and you name it. So - better get your applications in early before the scale changes.

Yard Sale in Just Two Weeks
Running out of time? Yard sale on July 22 for The Preserve, Red Oak & Sunflower Ct.
Only $8 to share the cost of ads, signs and Town permits. Clean out the house, basement, garage and make a few bucks at the same time. Contact Lisa 369-7814 or drop off the $8 fee at #63 The Preserve.
