Ski Jump Chairman Jumps.....Report this week that Tom Stewart, Chairman of the 500 ft high, indoor ski jump/run has left the company. This comes at a time when similar proposal for a ski operation in Turkey was put on hold by the Turkish government because of a suspected lack of funds by the company.
DEC Assesses Major Fine.....The DEC has levied a $100,000 fine on Calverton Industries for irregularities and suspected sandmining operations. Half of the fine may be suspended pending recovery of sand and refilling the excavated property.
Town Works on Gang Problem.....The Town has addressed the ongoing gang problem by conducting a press conference and admitting that the problem exists. The Police Chief promised more uniform coverage in the downton area and would press for an increase in manpower over the next few years. Since November 2005 there have been 122 arrests including 28 known gang members.
Town Changes Takeoff/Landing Patterns......The Town has produced several draft proposals for aircraft operations at the former Grumman site and it is apparent that there are more to come. One of the proposals for takeoff and landings at the airport was recently revised thereby changing the takeoff pattern from the southbound runway to a left turn after takeoff.
Lock Bumping, Making it Easy For the Bad Guys......Thank you Terry for passing along the latest hazard for homeowners: lock bumping, the method of tapping on a key (thats been inserted into a lock) until the lock simply allows the key to work.

Even Charlie Rangel objected to that. Now comes word that losses in the marketplace may result in a Citgo name change to Petro Express to get back their share of the gas market. Just check the tires Hugo. I still have a quarter tank.
