Ah, just two days from Spring and we should be thinking about what fertilizer or seed to buy, cranking up the tractor or mower or where to put the vegetable garden....Instead, we have the snow blower ready, shovels busy chopping ice and scrambling to find the snow boots.
Be patient. Spring is just around the corner.
The photo? Not a ski trail in Vermont. The Preserve on 3/18. It is a pretty place though.
Cardinale Expected to Name Deputy Supervisor
Rumor has it that Supervisor Phil Cardinale will name either Councilwoman Barbara Blass or Councilman George Bartunek to the post of Deputy Supervisor to replace Chris Kent who is leaving to assume a real estate position at the County level. The surprise here is that Blass could become Cardinale's deputy although she is a Republican and Cardinale is a Democrat. If named will either Blass or Bartunek retain their positions on the Town Board?
Vote For New Firehouse On Tuesday 3/20
Riverhead residents are asked to vote on the proposed, new 14 million dollar firehouse to be built with bond funding. If approved, residents will be subject to an approximate $100 per year increase in taxes to support the funding. There have been questions regarding the necessity of such a project both in size and expense. Voting is at the Second Street Firehouse on Tuesday 3/20/07
