HELICOPTER CRASHES
NEAR HOUSTON-4 DEAD
A medical evacuation helicopter with one patient on board crash landed in the Sam Houston Forest on the weekend killing everyone on board including the patient.

There seems to be an ever increasing number of helicopter accidents with fatalities increasing accordingly. These accidents have been atop hospitals (Grand Rapids last week), downtown (Panama City last week) and in open fields.

The Town of Riverhead should ban helicopter landings and takeoffs anywhere in the Township except at FAA certified airport facilities with the only exceptions being MedicEvac, Police units or other emergency craft. Low flyovers must also be banned except for these same emergency type units and military training craft.

East Moriches Storm Damage
The storm, rain and wind in our Baiting Hollow/Calverton area on Sunday was perhaps, the worst experienced in this area for a long time. This same storm devastated the East Moriches hamlet with huge damage to trees and property in every part of their town. LIPA and tree experts are overwhelmed by the huge job of cutting up and removing large tree trunks or hanging branches. We may have been lucky this time.

Broadwater has made another appeal to over turn the NY State position which is in opposition to the Broadwater project.
