Hurricane Bill On The Way

Looks like Hurricane Bill will make a showing this weekend. Bill, now listed as a Category 4, may skirt by the Island on the way to the Cape. Bermuda may feel some of the stronger winds. (revised to cat 3 on Thurs but winds may pickup and become a cat 4 again)

Great way to track the storm is on http://www.myfoxhurricane.com/. This site provides several computer models and animation. Check it out!

Grassley Says Fairness Doctrine May Happen
Sen Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) believes that FCC Diversity Director Mark Lloyd will cite "structural imbalance" as a reason to clamp down on talk radio.

Farmers Want Deer Hunt
Those farmers who grow the veggies at the East Hampton EECO Farm want something done about the deer that are eating up their hard work. Farmers want someone to hunt 'em down if necessary 'cause it is getting real frustrating when these critters destroy your crops. Others using fencing or repellents to do the trick.

Bargain Book Prices
The Riverhead Library has a great facility next to the main building and they call it the Yellow Barn. The Barn has thousands of books for sale every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Just a dollar for hardcovers and 25 cents for paperbacks. Trades or coffee table books may go for a bit more. The books (and some videos) come primarily from patron donations. Many of the books are in new or almost new condition.

Price Tag?
When the tap street was cut through the cul-de-sac in the Preserve this week a whole lot of earth moving equipment and trucks were used for the job. Was just wondering how much that little job (that didn't have to happen) cost the tax payers.
