Town Meets with Resorts
The Riverhead Town Board meeting in executive session with  representatives of Riverhead Resorts, has discussed the request by Resorts for a reduction of the $155 million dollar offer to purchase land at EPCAL.  Councilwoman Jodi Giglio is opposed to the reduction.

Sex Offenders to be Moved
The ongoing saga of sex offenders residing in trailers in Riverside, adjacent to the Suffolk County prison facilities is far from over.  Law makers have previously rejected making funds available for the relocation of the sex offenders.  Legislator Ed Romaine believes that the relocation will actually take place in about a month.

Newsday Reporting Park Closings
Newsday has reported that as many as 10 State Parks on Long Island may be closed this year because of the severe economic situation faced by New York State.  In addition recreational fees are likely to be raised including beach tags and golf fees.  (Makes you wonder how the State would have come up with their $25 million dollar contribution to the local school bond initiative.)

New Jersey Facing Bankruptcy?
Gov. Christie declares that their state is in serious danger of becoming insolvent, citing unsustainable state employee pension costs.  No word of how he intends to deal with the problem but he may have to declare a state of economic emergency to impose some drastic measures.
