Have Party - Will Run
County Executive Steve Levy announced on Friday that he is renouncing his Democrat party affiliation and becoming a Republican in order to run in the GOP primary for NY State Governor.  Levy has the backing of a number of Conservative and Republican groups.  Rick Lazio, another announced candidate for Governor also has a number of Republican party leaders backing his run for the seat in Albany.  Carl Paladino, a conservative favorite,  has also announced his candidacy for the Governor's position.

Former Congressman To Oppose Gillebrand
Joe DioGuardi has announced that he will run for the Senate seat now held by Kirsten Gillebrand.  Dioguardi has strong backing from a number of statewide conservative leaders and is likely to be endorsed by the remaining leaders.



LIRR Will Not Change
The commuter railroad has announced that it will not eliminate or reduce the service on the Ronkonkoma to Greenport line in the summer months as previously reported.

Health Care Opponents Will Storm the Capitol on Saturday
Thousands of activists from Tea Parties, 912 Chapters, CSA Members and many others will converge on the Washington D.C. mall on Saturday to protest the Obama Health Care Bill.  Congressman Peter King and Congresswoman Michelle Bachman are encouraging everyone to show up and make their position clear.

Walter Wants Soup Kitchen Moved
The soup kitchen currently housed in the old railroad station building on Railroad Avenue should be moved says Supervisor Sean Walter.  Jodi Giglio believes the Town should help find a new location for the occupants and have them moved by June of this year.
