Weather.Com Reported 103 Degrees at 3 PM
All kinds of heat records were being broken on Tuesday and clicking on local weather on weather.com at about 3 pm yesterday came up with a startling 103 degrees.

Unleaded Gas 23 Cents Less Off Island
The national average for unleaded regular gas is currently $2.72.9 per gallon.  The same unleaded regular in Riverhead is $2.95.9.  Thats .23 cents per gallon difference.  Now of course if you patronize those two tier stations (one price for credit card and one for cash) you will really pay through the nose.

Town Board to Approve Hotel
When the Riverhead Town Board meets today it is likely to approve the site plan for a new downtown hotel adjacent to the Atlantis Aquarium.  Did this hotel really need a tax abatement?

Military Funeral Protests - Banned
A new Suffolk County law (signed by County exec Levy) banning the protesting of military funerals in Suffolk was delivered by the Patriot Guard Riders to the County Clerk's office in Riverhead on Tuesday.  The Riders are a group of motorcyclists who have been at the forefront in protecting families from the disgraceful behavior of protestors at the funerals of military personnel.  Now - these are patriots.
