No Cost of Living Increase For Social Security
For the second straight year seniors on social security will not receive a COLA adjustment for the coming year.  In addition more Americans are taking early retirement because of the poor job market.  Despite what the Administration is touting, the economy is still in the tank, a major reason that the GOP is likely to gain a majority in the House on November 2.
More than 29 corporations and organizations are requesting waivers to the Obama Health Care Reform Act including the mammoth Teachers Union.  Another 114 waiver applications have been made as well.

1st Assembly District, New York State Assembly

Jodi Says Break Up EPCAL Acres

Town Board member Jodi Giglio has long opposed the continued extension of contract opportunities for Riverhead Resorts.  Just recently the Board ok'd another one month extension of their contract to purchase 755 acres at  Enterprise Park.  Jodi would prefer to have the large parcel divided into 5 acre units for easier sale or lease.

Romaine Wants Park
Legislator Ed Romaine is confident that the legislature will vote to approve Reeves Park at a location on Sound Avenue & Park in Baiting Hollow.He feels that it would be an error to allow a gas station, convenience store or other commercial operation at the site.  He believes these are better located on route 58.
