Resorts Lives Another Day
Town Supervisor Sean Walter had prepared a resolution terminating the contract with Riverhead Resorts and the purchase of acreage at EPCAL.  Resorts had already missed three scheduled payments and had been given until October 5 to reactivate it's commitment for the purchase.  The Board elected instead to table the resolution and give Resorts another month to come up with the funds.

This was a complete turnaround and improbable turn of events with everyone expecting Resorts to go down for the count at the Town Board meeting.  The resolution was tabled with Board members Jodi Giglio and George Gabrielsen objecting and voting against the time extension.
