Dan Losquadro (R) now leading incumbent NY State assemblyman Marc Alessi (D) by 890 votes.  Early tally on election night had Losquadro in the lead by a small 40 vote margin.

A final tally of paper ballots in Suffolk County now has Randy Altschuler (R) leading Tim Bishop (D) by almost 400 votes.  There are still absentee ballots to be counted and this may well trigger a recount of all paper ballots in the County.

Not Over 'Till Its Over
The election results in the CD-1 contest between incumbent Representative Tim Bishop (D) and contender Randy Altschuler (R) has not been called.  The tally as of Friday morning, two days after Election Day, showed less than a 1% difference in the vote count with Bishop slightly ahead.

....also in the election contest for NY State Assembly 1st District, the vote count shows Dan Losquadro (R) just 40 votes ahead of incumbent Marc Alessi (D).
No word when these contests will be finalized.

Casa Rica License Suspended
The State Liquor Authority has suspended the liquor license of the Casa Rica bar on Main Street in Riverhead.  Lawyers for the Authority cited 11 incidents which caused police officers to enter the premises  because of violence or suspected illegal activity.  The Authority was going to hold hearings regarding the license sometime in December but decided to act now in view of recent problems at the establishment.
